About Me

I am a licensed pscyhologist specializing in individual therapy, and I maintain a private practice in Montclair, New Jersey. Also, for the past twelve years, I have served as the Director of Counseling & Wellness Services at New Jersey City University in Jersey City, New Jersey.

I have over 25 years experience as an individual therapist specializing in Cognitive-Behavioral therapy. Currently, in my private practice I work with a broad spectrum of clients. Among my areas of expertise are depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, grief counseling, trauma, career/work issues, religion/spirituality, sexual abuse, addictions recovery, grief counseling, sexual orientation issues, and EMDR..

In addition to being a prominent relationship therapist, I have presented at National and state conferences and to general audiences speaking on the topics of depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, etc.)

I am an interactive, Cognitive-Behavioral therapist. My therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. I integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. I work with each individual with compassion and understanding to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.

I received my B.A. from Northeastern Illinois University, Masters from the University of Wisconsin and my doctorate in Counseling Psyhcology from Rutgers University.

I am licensed to practice therapy in the state of New Jersey, and additionally, I am a EMDR clinician.

I have a strong commitment to my professional development and I am a member of a number of professional organizations. My memberships include the: American Psychological Association, Association of University and College Counseling Center Directors, New Jersey Chapter-Association of Black Psychologists, New Jersey Psychological Association, and the New Jersey College Health Association.
